Investment

If an investment promises a higher return, ask what risk you're taking to get it. A common mistake beginners make is looking only at potential profit. They hear: “20% return.” “Double your money.” “This coin will explode.” “This business can't fail.” And immediately think about how much they could make. But every investment decision has another side: What could I lose? Generally, opportunities with higher potential returns also come with higher uncertainty and risk. Before putting money into anything, ask: 1️⃣ Do I understand it? If you can't explain how the investment or business makes money, you probably shouldn't rush into it. 2️⃣ What could go wrong? Don't calculate only the best-case scenario. Understand the downside too. 3️⃣ How much could I lose? Never assume profit is guaranteed. 4️⃣ Can I financially handle that loss? Losing $500 when you have $100,000 is very different from losing $500 when it's your entire emergency fund. 5️⃣ Am I investing or just gambling on a prediction? There's a difference between taking a calculated risk and blindly hoping the price goes up. This applies to: 📈 Stocks ₿ Crypto 🏠 Real estate 🚀 Startups 💼 Businesses 🤝 Private investments Building wealth requires taking some risks. But the objective isn't to take the most risk. It's to take risks you understand and can afford. 📌 Think about this today: Before asking: “How much can I make?” Train yourself to ask: “How much can I lose, what could cause that loss, and can I survive it?” Protecting your capital matters because once you lose 100% of it, there is nothing left to compound.
